Evaluation- Represention

As part of my research and planning I thought carefully about representation when listening to existing radio shows. Having listened to presenters on contrasting radio stations (Capital and Radio 4) I made notes about the way the presenter spoke, the language they used, and their tone of voice and thought about how this might relate to the radio stations target audience.

When i wrote my preliminary task i didnt take in to account representation in reference to the actors however after completing a couple listening and research tasks i soon learnt about the representation and for my main task i focused more on who would play which role to make it sound as profesional as possible.

Evaluation- Institution

My radio station, Sport Talk Local is a comercial radio station that generates revenue from advertisments of which i have 2 in my station. This is the reason that i decided it was important to have advertisments in the clip as the way this radio station generates revenue is through sale of advertisments and the adverts that appear in the radio are intended for a local audience which is who my radio station is for. it is targeted at the finchley/ Barnet area.

My lunchtime show that i wrote consist of end and continuation at the end of a talk show with adverts and news in between. this radio show is a talk radio show on sports very simular to talksport but this is on a more local level. This radio station (Sport Talk Local) is a sole station with no sister stations or anything like that just a one of a kind type local radio.
In this ad that appears on my radio shows the local area that is targeted by have a service in the area of the station as this is what a real local radio show is likley to have.

my Questionare

Here is my audience questionnaire to help me get an idea of listening habits, which will help me when I begin scripting my radio extract.

evaluation- technologies i have used

For my entire course work i have used many different technologies. Here are some examples and how they helped me.

Probably the most important used technology that has helped with my course work is Blogger. It document and record my research and planning. It enabled me to upload videos, images and sound clips. It has also helped me structure everything and keep it in a neat manner.

Soundcloud was also incredibly useful software as I was able to upload all of my audio files, the raw ones and the edited versions, before embeding the code into blogger so that the audio clips would appear on my blog.

During my research and planning i had to listen and analyse different radio stations, to do this i used a phone app called tunein radio. It helped me listen to the same show on different radios so that i could analyse them.

To record my actors I used the Shure SM58 microphone, which had a pop guard attached, and I used the mixing desk to alter volume levels during both recording and editing. We only had a single microphone, so I had to record each actor individually. However it is not a problem as the actor just reads his or her entire part and then you could edit it afterwords.
The software I used to edit and mix my show was called Adobe Audition 1.5, and it enabled me to add a range of effects to certain voices, as well as making it possible to layer sounds on the multi-track so that i could create very complex clips (such as my adverts, jingles and sections of my news bulletins).
This software also means that the actors mistakes could be edited out and the actor could do the same thing nuemerous times and i could pick the best one.
This software was very good as it allowed me to get rid of the gaps and pauses that may have accoured during recording and in addition to this it also allowed me to cut out any mistakes made.
